The Marion County Lady Knights softball team was scheduled to play three games last week. However, due to the rainy weather conditions, the Lady Knights were only able to play one game, last Wednesday night against Central Hardin on the road. Marion County couldn’t put a run on the scoreboard, and Central Hardin defeated the Lady Knights by a score of 5-0, taking the team’s record to 6-4.  Head Coach Trent Milby stated that their pitcher was hittable.
“We just didn’t get hits when people were on base,” he said.
Marion County managed six hits in the outing, but was held scoreless by Central Hardin. Jordan Thomas led the Lady Knights’ offense with two hits, while Tiffany Sapp, Coco May, Allison Mattingly, and Emily Fenwick chipped in one each.
Allye Hamilton took the loss for Marion County on the mound. Hamilton gave up five runs, allowing 13 hits, walking one batter, and striking out three.
