Lady Knights open regional play Thursday at Green County

The Lady Knights were paired with the Commanderettes of Washington County for the first round of the 5th Region Tournament. Marion County has defeated Washington County twice this season, both times by at least 51 points. The Lady Knights and Commanderettes will play in the final game of the opening round tomorrow night at 8 p.m. EST at Green County High School.  
The tournament begins tonight with a pair of games. In the opening game of the tournament, Nelson County will take on North Hardin at 6 p.m. Following that game, LaRue County will take on Adair County at 8 p.m. Prior to the Lady Knights game tomorrow night, Elizabethtown and Caverna will play at 6 p.m.
The semifinals of the tournament will be played on Sunday, March 3. The first semifinal game will be at 2 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. contest that the Lady Knights would be in if they advance. The finals of the tournament will be played next Tuesday, March 5, at 7:30 p.m.
“We need to come out and play at a high level,” Head Coach Trent Milby said. “We have to be focused on each game, and take nothing for granted. It will be a challenging tournament, and should be a lot of fun.”
