The Marion County Lady Knights soccer team was supposed to compete in two games last week during fall break. However, due to rain, the game on Monday of last week against Bardstown was cancelled and there will be no makeup game.
On Tuesday of last week, the Lady Knights went on the road to play Bethlehem.  Besides a breakaway goal by Lindsey Browning in the game, Marion County was dominated in every aspect of the game, with the final score being 11-1.
According to Head Coach Devin Johnson, it was Bethlehem's senior night and their team was fired up and ready to play, while the Lady Knights weren't.
"I think just the culmination of it being our fall break and it being their senior night killed us," he said. "We just flat weren't ready to play. We've completely removed that from our minds, and are 100 percent focused on taking care of business in the postseason."
The Lady Knights will be in action tonight at Marion County High School in the first round of the district tournament, where they will play the No. 4 seed, Taylor County. If Marion County advances, they will play in the finals of the district tournament tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
