The Marion County Lady Knights went on the road Feb. 12 to take on Mercy Academy in their last regular season game. After winning their previous 29 games, Marion County had little trouble in capping off an impressive 30-0 undefeated regular season. Patrice Tonge led the way with a career-high 22 points in the 64-46 win.
“We played a really good game,” Head Coach Trent Milby said. “We were really focused on the game and went to a tough place to win, and won.”
Milby also praised his team for making it through the regular season undefeated and winning by an average in excess of 33 points per game.
“It’s a great accomplishment because it is something that is very hard to do,” he said. “This team has stepped up and played every game with great focus. I’m very proud of them and the whole community should be as well.”
