The Marion County Lady Knights will vie for the top seed in 20th District tournament on Jan. 20 at home against the Adair County Lady Indians. If the Lady Knights win, they are guaranteed the top seed in the tournament and will likely be paired against Campbellsville in the first round barring a Lady Eagles turn around.
The Lady Knights travel to Campbellsville on Friday to play the Lady Eagles. In their first head-to-head the Lady Knights prevailed 63-22. The Lady Knights smothering pressure defense held the Lady Eagles to their lowest scoring output of the season.
Taylor County lost to district opponent Campbellsville on Jan. 9, but still remains in third place. Taylor County resumes district play on Jan. 23 against the Lady Knights.
Campbellsville ended a 48 game losing streak against district opponents by beating Taylor County 60-53 on the road. The Lady Eagles hadn't beat a district opponent since winning the district title in 2002.
Adair County resumes district play on Jan. 20 against the Lady Knights.
