Lancers crack century mark in win

The Lebanon Lancers used a barrage of three-pointers to take an early lead, then hung on to defeat the visiting River City Gamblers, 103-89.

The Lancers held off a pair of runs by the Gamblers in the win.

"Basketball's a game of runs," Lancers Coach Mark Bell said. "It's who can withstand the runs."

The Lancers built a 12-point lead in the first quarter by hitting six three-pointers in the opening period.

Elton Scott led Lebanon with 24 points, including four three-pointers.

Boris Siakam added 19 points. Pete Spalding scored 17, and Elton Scott added 15 points for the Lancers. Ten players scored for Lebanon in the win.

The Gamblers' Sean Hampton led all scorers with 45 points, including 14 points in the fourth quarter.  Shannon Wilkerson chipped in 20 points for River City.

The Lancers improved to 4-3 with the win.

Lebanon's next game will be 7 p.m. Saturday, May 30, on the road against the Clermont Generals.
