Five miles east of Lebanon and south of US 68, approximately 1,700 acres of land could soon be set aside to create the Pope Creek-Putnam Knob State Forest and Wildlife Management Area.
The Marion County Fiscal Court, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the Kentucky Division of Forestry are partners in a project to create a natural conservation area in the county.
