Lebanon City Council to discuss taxes, flooding

Meeting is scheduled for 7 tonight

Tax rates and flooding are on the agenda for tonight's meeting of the Lebanon City Council. The council is scheduled to meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at city hall.

The agenda includes a public hearing on the 2013 proposed tax rates. The city's current property tax rate is 19.1 cents per $100 valuation. The proposal is to increase the property tax rate to 19.8 cents per $100.

The council is also scheduled to hold the first reading on the ordinance setting the tax rate during tonight's meeting.

With regard to flooding, Charles Mills, Lee Guifoil, Pat and Cindy Daughterty and Gail Brady are all listed as delegations to discuss the issue with the council.

In other business:

- Mills is requesting a noise variance, and the Rotary Club is seeking permission to sell beer during the Battle of the Bands on Ham Days weekend.

- The council will receive its regular department reports

- The council is scheduled to approve a time and date for trick-or-treating and Halloween in the Park.
