Lebanon man indicted for rape

Telly Jermaine Burton, 35, of 668 Country Club Drive in Lebanon was indicted for first-degree rape.

According to the indictment, on or about Sept. 27, Burton engaged in sexual intercourse with another person by forcible compulsion or who was incapable of consent because she was physically helpless.

His bond was set at $50,000 with the condition that he have no contact with the victim.

In other indictments:

- Thomas William Manning, 27, of 7511 Mt. Washington Road in Louisville was indicted for second-degree escape and second-degree persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 22, Manning escaped from the custody of Marion Adjustment Center after previously being charged with or convicted of a felony.

The indictment also reads that he is over the age of 21 and stood convicted of at least one felony after his 18th birthday.

No bond was set in this case.

- Steven Mickey Alvarado, 49, of 470 George Beaven Loop in Loretto was indicted for marijuana cultivation over five plants enhanced firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 13, Alvarado knowingly and unlawfully planted, cultivated or harvested more than five plants of marijuana while in possession of a firearm or firearms, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

According to a second indictment, on or about Aug. 13, Alvarado possessed, manufactured or transported a handgun when he has been convicted of a felony in any state or federal court.

His bond was set at $50,000.

- James C. Whitehouse, 23, of Lot 50, Arrowhead Trailer Park in Campbellsville was indicted for first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 22, Whitehouse manifested extreme indifference to human life and wantonly engaged in conduct, which created substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person.

The indictment also reads that he is over the age of 21 and stood convicted of at least two felonies after his 18th birthday.

His bond was set at $10,000.

- Mark Goodin, 21, of 835 Pebblebrook Drive in Lebanon was indicted in multiple indictments for theft by deception over $300, seven counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

According to the indictment, on or about Oct. 17, Goodin obtained property or service of another by deception with the intent to deprive the person thereof.

According to a second indictment, on or about Sept. 16, 2008, and continuing through Dec. 23, 2008, Goodin uttered or possessed five checks on the account of another with knowledge that they were forged, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

According to a third indictment, on or about Jan. 19, Goodin uttered or possessed a check on the account of another with knowledge that they were forged, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

According to a fourth indictment, on or about June 4, he uttered or possessed five checks on the account of another with knowledge that they were forged, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

According to a fifth indictment, on or about June 25, he uttered or possessed five checks on the account of another with knowledge that they were forged, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

His bond was set as the same as his bond in other circuit court cases.

- Derek M. Friend, 28, of 203 W. Main Street in Bradfordsville was indicted for second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, on or about July 24, Friend knowingly entered or remained unlawfully in a dwelling with intent to commit a crime, and he knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance classified in Schedule IV or V.

His bond was set at $5,000 with the condition that he have no contact with the victim.

- Valerie L. Smothers, 31, of 140 Alpine Street in Lebanon was indicted for second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

According to the indictment, on or about June 8, Smothers uttered or possessed 16 checks on the account of Joe Paul and Martha Abell with knowledge that they were forged, or Smothers aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

Her bond was set at $4,000 with the condition that she have no contact with her parents.

- Travis A. Lanham, 33, of 80 Hwy. 243 in Gravel Switch was indicted for marijuana cultivation five or more plants.

According to the indictment, on or about July 29, 2008, Lanham knowingly and unlawfully planted, cultivated or harvested more than five plants of marijuana, or aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

His bond was set at $2,000.

- May O. Sullivan, 38, of 80 Hwy. 243 in Gravel Switch was indicted for marijuana cultivation five or more plants.

According to the indictment, on or about July 29, 2008, Lanham knowingly and unlawfully planted, cultivated or harvested more than five plants of marijuana, or aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

Her bond was set at $2,000.

- Stephen Lanham, 39, of 3035 Tatum Lane in Gravel Switch was indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $500 and first-degree persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 2, Lanham unlawfully took or exercised control over $500 (auto) belonging to another (Vicki Brady) with intent to deprive her thereof, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

The indictment also reads that he is over the age of 21 and stood convicted of at least two felonies after his 18th birthday.

His bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000.

- Joshua B. Ferguson, 25, of 3555 Wimsatt Road in Loretto was indicted for flagrant non-support and second-degree persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, between Aug. 1, 2006, and Aug. 31, 2009, Ferguson persistently failed to provide support for his minor children, which he could reasonably provide and has a duty to provide by virtue of a court order, and that said failure has resulted in an arrearage of more than $1,000.

The indictment also reads that he is over the age of 21 and stood convicted of at least one felony after his 18th birthday.

His bond was set at $1,000.

- Gery L. Childers, 29, of 85 Roller Knob Road in Gravel Switch was indicted for receiving stolen property over $500.

According to the indictment, on or about Aug. 25, Childers received, retained or disposed of moveable property (vehicle), valued over $500, of another knowing it had been stolen or having reason to believe it had been stolen, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.

His bond was set at $1,000.
