Lebanon native receives award from UK College of Agriculture

Brett Childers, was awarded one of the two 2013 College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Outstanding Staff Awards in the Technician/Paraprofessional category. 

He has worked for BAE since 2005, starting in a technical position assisting Dr. Larry Wells on a tobacco research project. 

In 2011, he was promoted to his current position as an engineer technician senior in the agricultural machinery research lab.

“Brett is a motivated guy who works independently and like to learn new things,” Will Adams, his supervisor in agricultural machinery research lab, said. “I’m delighted that he won the award because he’s a prime example of the high quality work that comes out of this department.”

The awards are co-sponsored by Gamma Sigma Delta Honorary Society of Agriculture, the Agriculture and HES Alumni Association, and Partners in Agriculture.

Childers is the son of Kenny and Kim Childers of Lebanon.
