Lebanon woman gets probation in child abuse case

5-month-old's ribs were broken

A Lebanon woman pled guilty to first-degree criminal abuse stemming from broken ribs to her then-5-month-old daughter.

Victoria O. Berger, 32, of 780 Hwy. 289 Lot #23 in Lebanon received five years of probation on a charge of first-degree criminal abuse. Court documents read that Berger admitted to shaking the baby at approximately 75 percent strength on two occasions.

Berger has been ordered to serve 90 days in jail and to pay $150 court costs.

In other court news:

- Arthur L. Garrett, 46, of 4539 Greensburg Road in Campbellsville pled guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. His sentencing has been scheduled for Jan. 24, 2013.

- Charges of cultivation of marijuana five or more plants first offense were dismissed against Kelly Coffman, 25, of 410 E. Moores Creek in Campbellsville.
