While reading Lisa Tolliver's "dump your bank" column in the Nov. 9 issue of The Lebanon Enterprise, I was reminded of something a very wise businessman taught me years ago. He believed that by giving back part of his profit in the form of service to customers, he would profit more in the long-run by keeping customers. He built a long running professional practice on this idealistic approach. Unfortunately, those who took over the business upon his death did not share this belief and within a few years the firm was out of business.
