Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Inc. is a private non-profit 501c3 organization that provides services to families of low income in our eight county service area – which includes Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson and Washington counties. Our central office is located at 332 Hood Avenue in Lebanon. The agency employees 207 dedicated persons and operates with a $10 million annual budget.
Each of our 11 programs is federally funded, and operated through a reimbursement system. Cash flow has been an issue, since funds must be spent before they are reimbursed by the contracts. Many of the programs also require a local match of 20 percent or more. Our Head Start Program, which serves 520 children, must obtain over $1 million in local cash or in-kind contributions annually.
Raising the local match and additional operating funds has become more difficult in these economic times. We are asking that you help us, “help people help themselves.”
Other programs offered to the community include transportation, meals for senior citizens and children, weatherization, energy assistance, budget counseling, food banks, employment training and placement, education assistance, volunteer programs and case management for families in crisis.
All donations are tax deductible, greatly needed and deeply appreciated.
