Great American Smokeout 2008 Each year in November, Americans celebrate the American Cancer Society's Great American Smoke Out. This year will be the 33rd such annual event. The Great American Smoke Out is a designated day where smokers from across our nation unite in cause and commit to give up smoking for one day. These future "non-smokers" need to be: cheered, applauded, supported and encouraged by family, friends, community and everyone else who is concerned about the harmful dangers associated with tobacco use and secondhand smoke.
