What a sad night it was for the citizens of Lebanon.
I am deeply saddened and outraged at the vote that took place during the city council meeting on Monday, March 7. While I commend the council for letting Councilman Marrett’s motion to get rid of tourism die on the floor, the follow-up motion and vote that took place might as well have done the same. To repeal the restaurant tax is absurd. Mayor Crenshaw even stated that repealing the restaurant tax would gut tourism. He was right.
