On Oct. 1, kynect.ky.gov went live. This is Kentucky’s health benefits exchange, which was created as part of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Through the exchange, individuals can enroll in private health insurance plans or Medicaid (if they meet eligibility requirements).
Anyone who is having problems navigating the website can contact an in-person assister, also known as a kynector.
The Lincoln Trail Area Development District is providing the kynectors for this region, and Myra Howard is the kynector serving Marion and Washington counties.
According to information from Lincoln Trail, kynectors are certified to provide accurate and unbiased information to citizens trying to understand and enroll in a health plan.
To request information or assistance, call Howard at (270) 769-2393 or (502) 536-0199.
Individuals who would prefer to enroll by phone can call 1-855-4kynect (1-855-459-6328).
The Governor’s Office reported that 18,000 applications for health insurance were started through kynect.ky.gov last week.
