LMS advances to state competition

The Lebanon Middle School archery team won the regional competition at St. Catharine College March 5. They scored 2,985 points, placing first in the region, and will advance to the state tournament for the ninth year in a row,  The state competition will be held March 29 at the Louisville Convention Center.
In individual competition, four members of the Lebanon Middle School archery team placed at the regional event. Kate Cobb placed first in the girls elementary school category with a score of 270. Caroline Cobb placed second in the girls middle school category with a score of 258. Brook Mattingly and Daniel Rakes took third and fourth place respectively in the boys middle school category with a score of 268. Their scores were tied, but Mattingly edged Rakes due to the fact that he scored more 10s.
