Marion County Superintendent Taylora Schlosser announced Friday that Marion County High School Assistant Principal Christina McRay will act as an interim principal at Lebanon Middle School for the remainder of the school year.
“I believe that Mrs. McRay’s experience at the high school will bring continued value to LMS,” Schlosser wrote in an email to staff and the media. “The schools and administration at each school are willing to work together to do what is best for all students in Marion County. This is another example of how Marion County is working to be a school system not a system of schools.”
In the meantime, the council will gather input from stakeholders, applications will be reviewed, and interviews are planned to take place the last week of April. Schlosser said May 1 is the school council’s target date to hire a principal and that person’s first official day will be July 1.
Todd Farmer, former LMS principal, was hired in December to become the district’s director of federal programs. He had been the principal at LMS since 2008.
