Local charity aims to help cancer patients

Cancer has touched most, if not all, of Marion County in some way.

“Everybody’s had family members that have been diagnosed with cancer,” Debbie Higdon said. “Until your family goes through it, you don’t realize the extra expense that goes with it.”

Because of that, Higdon wanted to find a way to help provide some financial support to families as they deal with the disease.

And she has.
