Loretto event cancelled for KY Transportation meeting

The Loretto Community has cancelled its screening of the movie “Gasland II,” which was scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21 at Loretto City Hall.
The film is a documentary by Josh Fox, looking at the effects of fracking.
The screening was cancelled because of a public meeting that is being held at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, at Centre Square. The meeting is being held by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and it's concerning improvements to KY 49 in Marion County between Lebanon and Loretto.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, improvements to KY 49 in Marion County between Lebanon and Loretto continues to progress through stages of planning and now is the time to provide concerns and comments for consideration.
Doors to the Center Square Convention Center (239 North Spalding Avenue, Lebanon) will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those who attend will have the opportunity to review KY 49 Planning Study findings, potential alternative solutions and cost estimates.
Concerns and comments will be gathered and presented to project planning team members. Handouts, containing information about the project, comment sheets with a questionnaire, and displays will be available at the meeting. Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be available to answer any questions. Written comments will be accepted during the meeting and up to 15 days after the meeting at the District Four Office listed below.
Written comments from this meeting will become part of the official record for the project. Once compiled, the meeting record will be available for review and copy only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Office of Legal Services, Transportation Cabinet Office Building, 200 Mero Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40622.
