Loretto man gets probation for drug trafficking

John Adkins, 36, 999 Holy Cross Road in Loretto received three years of probation in Marion Circuit Court recently for second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than four grams). He was ordered to pay $150 court costs. He was ordered to serve 60 days in jail, and he was granted work release.

In other circuit court news:
- A charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, was dismissed against Jamie Nicole Smith, 28, 10715 Calvary Road in Lebanon because she successfully completed her pretrial diversion program.
- A charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance was dismissed against Brian Edwards, 23, of 339 Long Avenue in Lebanon because he successfully completed his pretrial diversion program.
