William Paul Monroe, 30, walked away from MAC on Sept. 30. He was captured at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 1 by the Harlan County Sheriff's Department. Monroe is being housed in the Harlan County Detention Center.
Monroe was serving an eight-year sentence for second-degree robbery on a Harlan County charge. He was scheduled to see the parole board in January of 2013.
With Thursday's arrest, Monroe will also be facing an additional charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
The Kentucky Standard reported that Monroe was suspected of stealing a green Ford Escape from 44 Auto in Bardstown. A salesman had been providing Monroe with a test drive when Monroe asked him to stop at Wal-mart to surprise his daughter with a gift. When the salesman returned, Monroe and the car were gone.
Monroe is also suspected of robbing a bank. He was captured in the 6500 block of Bardstown Road in Louisville.
