Man gets probation for weapons charges

George M. Smith, 30, of 514 S. Spalding Avenue in Lebanon received two years of probation in Marion Circuit Court recently for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and alcohol intoxication in a public place. He was also ordered to pay $150 court costs and to serve 30 days in jail.
In other court news:
- James A. Gulley Jr., 30, of 3313 Old Calvary Pike Road in Lebanon received 12 months of probation for second-degree possession of a controlled substance. He was ordered to pay court costs. A charge of public intoxication was dismissed.
- Angela Hunt, 36, of 1440 Riley Road in Gravel Switch, pled guilty to fraudulent use of a credit card under $10,000 (four counts) and second-degree forgery (two counts). Her sentencing has been scheduled for Aug. 9.
- William S. Deering, 23, of Hwy. 49 in Loretto was referred to drug court on a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance first offense.
- Jason E. Wise, 27, of Town Motel Apt. 6 in Campbellsville was referred to drug court on a charge of unlawful taking under $300 (two counts).
