Many Marion Countians still without power

Kentucky Utilities reported this morning that it now has 110,000 customers without power statement.  Marion County Judge/Executive John G. Mattingly spoke with Inter-County Energy official. Of their more than 5,100 sites, about 3,000 were without power around midday. He added that at least 50 of Inter-County's poles were down. Power has been restored in parts of Calvary, and local crews as well as crews from other parts of Kentucky, Tennessee and Kansas are working to restore power.   National Guard members are also going door to door in parts of the county to check on health and welfare.

As of Sunday morning, power has been restored to all the schools in Marion County. Shelters have been provided at Marion County High School, Centre Square and the former St. Francis Nursing Center (for people with more specific needs). According to Mattingly, shelter services are being consolidated at Centre Square, although other sites are available for people to warm up or just to get away from their homes for a while. Tonight: A 20 percent chance of rain before 1am. Mostly clear during the early evening, then becoming mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind between 3 and 6 mph. 

Monday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. North wind around 6 mph. 

Monday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Northwest wind between 6 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
