Marion County FFA attends state convention

The Marion County FFA traveled to Rupp Arena in Lexington from June 12-14 for the 83rd annual Kentucky State FFA State Convention. The chapter received numerous recognitions and awards including: Gold Emblem Chapter - selected as one of the top 15 chapters in the state and placed third in the state in chapter development and community development; Michael Sandusky - Lincoln Trail Region Agri-Entrepreneurship winner; Gold level in Support our Troops program; second in the state in the Farm Tag promotion contest; Anthony Mattingly placed third in the state in dairy impromptu speaking and Amelia Mattingly, Bethany Purdom, and Alex Luckett represented the Lincoln Trail region in Small Animal Impromptu, Poultry Impromptu, and Crop Impromptu respectively.
Paige Hardin was named Lincoln Trail Region STAR in Agriculture Placement with her work on the Hardin Dairy Farm. She also received her state FFA degree.
Cody Rakes was the state winner in the Forage Production Placement Proficiency for his work on Ricky Rakes Farm.
Alex Luckett was the state winner in the Diversified Agriculture Placement Proficiency for his work on Luckett Family Farms. He also was a Lincoln Trail Region state officer candidate.
Alex Luckett and Nikki Purdom received their State FFA Degrees along with Morgan Whitlock, Caleb Clark, and Jason Miracle.
