Our senior county fair day this year is Tuesday July 3. All Marion County seniors 60 and above are encouraged to participate in this day organized just for you. It is held inside at the new big back room at the county extension office from 9:30 until around 1:30. There is no excuse with weather for whether it is hot or cool outside the inside is air conditioned.
There will be games, music, 1/2 pots, skits, fellowship, food and of course the favorite BINGO. You can enjoy the time at the senior fair day for $3 per person. This applies toward the expense and fun that you can have with us. I will guarantee that you cannot find a cheaper way to have some fun.
This year being our 5th year we thought we would add a contest called "Sweet Tooth". I do not know about you but in my later years I have acquired this thing I use to hear the older folks say, "That was good a good supper but I need a little something for my sweet tooth".
We want anyone who would like to enter the contest to do so bringing your favorite cake(s), cookies, or pie(s). You will be judged on taste and uniqueness. We will have first, second, and third place winners. The items will then be enjoyed by the crowd as the dessert with our lunch. Lunch will again be cooked and served by The Cattlemen's Association.
Another contest that will be is a Baby Photo contest. Bring your baby picture on fair day in an envelope and we are going to see who can match the most names with pictures. Please put your name on the back of the picture and also on the envelope.
Anytime I have an event I like to know we have given back to our community as the Cattlemen Association does. So I am asking to bring with you a roll or two of dimes as we will have a number game with small prizes. Proceeds from this will go to the FFA students. Our FFA students are learning the ropes for helping to keep us fed.
Also a reminder to anyone wishing to go to Branson in September to send your deposit and or call (270) 699-9898.
Enjoy today and stay cool the first day of summer (hahaha). Put July 3 on your calendar and hope to see you then.
