Kelly Mattingly has qualified to represent St. Augustine Catholic School at the state level of the National Geographic Bee. The state Bee will be held on Friday, March 30, on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. State level participants must be from the fourth through eight grades and must have participated in and won the contest at the school level. The school winner must also pass the state qualifying exam to advance to the state level competition. The state winner will compete at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington D.C., which will be held May 22-24. Kelly is in the sixth grade at St. Augustine School. He is the son of Joseph H. and Carol S. Mattingly.
