Inmate medical care at the Marion County Detention Center will be expanding from five to seven days a week. The Marion County Fiscal Court approved the change by a vote of 4-0 during its Jan. 22 meeting. Magistrate Larry Caldwell was absent from the meeting. Marion County Jailer Barry Brady said the county provides medical services five days a week for a total of 40 hours. Brady said moving to a seven day a week operation will help the jail meet more state and federal standards.
