In a few weeks, the class of 2009 will receive their diplomas from Marion County High School during the annual graduation ceremony. A few select students will be recognized again for exceeding the minimum graduation requirements to earn the Commonwealth Diploma.
But MCHS administrators believe more students deserve recognition. And starting with the class of 2010, MCHS students will have the opportunity to earn one of four different diplomas.
"We want to recognize those kids going above and beyond the basic requirements," MCHS Principal Taylora Schlosser said.
