Due to the excessive cold temperatures and wind chills predicted for the next couple of days there will be no garbage collection on Tuesday, Jan. 7, according to Marion County Judge/Executive John G. Mattingly.
Crews are attempting to collect garbage today, Monday, Jan. 6, but they are encountering cans/bags frozen to the ground, not to mention serious and dangerous adverse conditions for the sanitation workers with the severe wind chill conditions.
Crews will double their routes on Wednesday, Jan. 8, and collection might run a little earlier than normal so put your garbage out a little earlier than normal.
