The Lebanon Fire Department responded to a fire Dec. 15 at 339 N. Woodlawn Avenue in Lebanon. The fire was reported to the Lebanon Police Department at 9:23 p.m.

Betty Jones, who rents the house, and another unknown person were inside at the time of the fire, according to Lebanon Fire Chief Ricky Mattingly. Both adults escaped unharmed.

Robin Mays made the initial call reporting the fire. That call went to the Kentucky State Police, but Mays lost contact during an attempt to transfer her call to the Lebanon Police Department. The Lebanon dispatch called back and learned the location of the fire.

Everyone was out of the house by the time the firefighters arrived, Mattingly said.

The electrical fire started in the attic above a bedroom in the house. He said the fire was contained to the attic, but there was smoke damage throughout the attic and the bedroom.

Mattingly added that the house was not a total loss and the damage is repairable.
