Old Mill Days is June 13-14

Wave 3’s Dawn Gee is the grand marshal of this year’s parade

 Bradfordsville will be hosting its 25th annual Old Mill Days celebration Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14.

Anyone attending outdoor events is encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

Friday activities

The festival begins at 5 p.m. Friday. The flea market, arts and crafts and kids activities will begin at the park. Three-legged races and sack races will take place on the baseball field. 

An old-time doll and toy exhibit will be on display in the senior citizens room in the old school building. There is no charge to view the exhibit.

Old Mill Days t-shirts and plates will also be for sale in the senior citizens room. 

The pet show at the park will also begin at 5 p.m. Friday.

At 6 p.m., the beauty pageant will take place in the gymnasium of the old school building. (Admission is $3 for participants and anyone 8 or older, $2 for children 5-7 years old and free for children 4 and under.)

The old timer’s baseball game will begin at 6:30 p.m., and music will begin at 8:30 p.m. under the pavilion at the park. The hula hoop and jump rope contests will also begin at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday activities

The festival will resume at 7 a.m. Saturday morning with a pancake breakfast at the Bradfordsville Civic Center.

The flea market, arts and crafts and kids activities will begin at 8 a.m.

At 9 a.m., the doll exhibit and t-shirt and plate sales will again will be in the senior citizens room, and Kate the Cow will be available to be milked.

At 10 a.m., a three-on-three basketball tournament will take place at basketball court at the park.

Also at 10 a.m., the farm  equipment and tractor show will begin, and bike, tricycle and big wheel contests will take place in the school parking lot.

At 10:30 a.m., the egg relay race, water balloon toss and mummy contest will be held in the school parking lot.

Music at the pavilion starts at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, as will the youth ball game on the baseball field.

At 2:30 p.m., participants in the parade will begin lining up in Dudley’s parking lot.

The parade will start at 3 p.m. Wave 3 television’s Dawn Gee will serve as the grand marshal of this year’s parade.

Music will resume at the park pavilion at 3:30 p.m., and the ham and chicken supper will be held in the gymnasium of the old school at 4 p.m. Pleasant Valley Christian Church is preparing the meal.

The auction will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the pavilion, and South 49 will close the night with a musical performance at 8:30 p.m. at the pavilion.
