This week's recipes were favorites of my father. I used to make pickles for him a lot. He was crazy about homemade bread and butter pickles. He would request pickles for Christmas, Father's Day and his birthday.
These freezer recipes were ones he would request. If you've got the freezer space, it's easier (and cooler) than canning.
Dad liked slaw on his pork barbeque sandwiches and this freezer slaw was a hit with him.
These are both recipes from my friend Irene Knight. I've used them for many years.
