The Lebanon Police are investigating why a man was found dead Friday afternoon in a truck on Hwy. 49.
Lindsey Summers, 51, died as a result of a gunshot wound but the police have not yet determined the cause.
“We’re treating it as a death investigation until it’s ruled to be foul play or a suicide,” said Major Greg Young, the Lebanon assistant police chief.
He said they are waiting to receive the medical examiner’s report before making a determination regarding the cause of death.
The police received an anonymous call around 5:15 p.m., April 25, from someone reporting a truck had pulled off of the road. Young said the caller was concerned that the driver might be intoxicated.
Sgt. Donald Jewell was the first officer on the scene, according to Young. The victim was found with a gunshot wound. A .22 rifle and Summers’ dog were also in the vehicle, a black truck that was not registered to Summers, according to Young.
Summers moved to Lebanon from Florida six or seven years ago, Young said.
More information will be reported after the death investigation is complete.
