Marion County Public Schools kindergarten and preschool registration will be held at all elementary schools from noon to 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24.
If school is canceled on this day, registration will be moved to Friday, Jan. 31.
Registration paperwork will be at the elementary school in the district in which you reside. Children who will be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2014 should register for kindergarten classes. Students who are currently enrolled in the 4-year-old preschool program should also register for kindergarten.
To register, you must bring proof of residence in the form of a utility bill.
Other documentation that is required to be on file at school before the first day of school:
• Immunization record
• Certified copy of birth certificate
• Physical examination record
• Dental health screening
• Vision Examination
No child will be permitted to enter the first day of school without these documents on file in the school office.
Children who will be 3 or 4 years of age or who may become age 5 after Oct. 1, 2014, may register for preschool services. Preschool eligibility is based upon disability and/or income. Screening is required for eligibility determination.
Head Start will also be having registration at each elementary school for 3- and 4-year-old children.
