Purple and Gold program helps make college more affordable

-A A +A

It’s no secret that times are hard these days and one way St. Catharine College is helping make college attendance more affordable is its new Purple and Gold Guarantee program. This new initiative was approved for all counties in Kentucky, including the college’s primary service area of Marion, Nelson, Washington and Jefferson counties. The program is designed to serve students who may be prepared academically but need financial assistance to complete enrollment. The guarantee offers students full tuition, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
To qualify, the student must apply and be accepted to SCC by March 1, 2013. They must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by January 15, 2013, plus display eligibility for the full Pell Grant as determined by the FAFSA. The student must also earn a minimum high school grade point average of 3.5 and earn a composite ACT score of at least 23.
Once enrolled at SCC, they must maintain a 3.0 GPA, complete 24 credit hours each year and file the FAFSA annually by the priority deadline set by SCC.
