Quilt contest is for kids

-A A +A

The Marion County Extension Homemakers Association in conjunction with the Kentucky Bluegrass Music kickoff are sponsoring a Creative Kentucky Quilt Block Contest - for kids.
The quilt block must be created by the youth entering the contest and on flat paper; no 3D designs (use markers, crayons, paint, glue/tape colored papers, etc).
Make the block no larger than 8.5-inch by 8.5-inch paper (it can be smaller, but must be a square); use the entire paper.
Color a mini quilt block from one in our county, create a design of your own or draw a design from a quilt you have; the possibilities are endless!
First-place award is $25, $15 for second and third-place winner will receive $10.
The drawings are due at the Marion County Extension Office by Jan. 21.
The blocks will be on display Jan. 29 at Marion County High School.
Contact Elizabeth Creed at the Extension office, 692-2421, for more information.
