Sarah Eudora Walker, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Decatur, Ill. passed away April 19, 2012.
Walker was born June 26, 1922 in Loretto, She was a member of the WAVES during WWII. Walker met William "Red" Walker in Atlanta after he had returned from the reserves. They were married Feb. 23, 1952 in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bryan and Bridget Mattingly; a son, Bill Walker; a brother, Ruben Mattingly; and a sister, Benita Lamkin.
Survivors include: her husband, William "Red" Walker; a daughter, Patricia Burge (Donald); brothers, David Mattingly, Bryan Mattingly, and Simeon Mattingly; sisters, Mary Frances Conn, Emma Jean Miles, Mary B. Mattingly, and Ann Sophia Barr; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian burial was held April 30 at Holy Family Catholic Church, with burial in Salem Cemetery in Decatur, Ill.
Moran & Goebel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
