SCC wins national tournament

St. Catharine College's softball team had a busy weekend, winning the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship in Decatur, Ill.

SCC is coached by former Marion County High School softball stand out Holly Smith. The local coach is in her fifth year as the head coach at SCC.

Smith and her team experienced a dramatic finish in the title game as Sharonda Mangan hit a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game.
