The Marion County Board of Education has decided to keeps its property tax rates unchanged for the 2014-15 fiscal year.
The tax rate last year was 53.8 cents per $100 valuation on real and personal property. That will remain the rate for 2014-15.
The board made its 3-0 decision during an Aug. 28 meeting, which followed a public hearing about the tax rates.
Lisa Caldwell, the financial officer for Marion County Public Schools, opened the public hearing with a presentation.
