School closed due to weather

Marion County schools are closed Tuesday due to the weather conditions.

Marion County residents should be aware that a winter storm warning is in effect for central Kentucky until 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a mix of sleet and snow in the area. As a result of a strong low pressure system moving across the area, one to three inches of sleet and snow are possible Tuesday afternoon. Freezing rain is also possible. The weather service is also predicting another inch of light snow Wednesday morning.
