Shively family gather for reunion

For the first time in possibly more than 200 years, ancestors of Christian Shively who lived in Jefferson County, Michael Shively who lived in Taylor County, Jacob Shively who lived in Taylor County and John Shively who was married in Washington County met to discuss the Shively genealogy recently. The Shively’s present have had representatives from each line mentioned above participate in the Shively DNA project with each participant matching the other most likely indicating the group comes from one common Shively ancestor. The group met in Lebanon on Friday, June 27. The Shively’s enjoyed a meal and then introductions and genealogy information was shared.
Attending the Shively reunion were Nell Shively from Sedona, Arizona, Rich Shively from Ralston, Nebraska, Walter Shively from New Albany, Indiana, Connie Alexander from Kentucky, Dr. Eugene Shively from Campbellsville, Larry Shively from Chicago, Illinois, Alexander Shively from Campbellsville, Paul Shively from Campbellsville, Mary Parrott from Lebanon and Paul (Sherry) Shively from Campbellsville. Also attending the reunion (but not pictured) were Mary Jewell Graves, Virginia Graves and Chad Shively and his family, all of Campbellsville, Sandford Adams of Lexington, Richard (Chris) Shively, Ralston, Nebraska and Joni of Sedona, Arizona.
