Low-income families now have one less obstacle to providing health insurance for their children.
Last week, state officials announced that the $20 monthly fee for the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program has been eliminated.
"We do think that the $20 premium requirement did present a hardship on some families," said Vikki Franklin, a spokeswoman for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
