April 26 was my dad’s birthday. It is hard to believe he has been gone seven years already. He lived a good long life, and I have good memories of him that will always be with me.
In our family, it was customary to get a special birthday dinner, and my mom was a great cook. She would make an elaborate birthday dinner for Dad, trying to outdo herself with “gourmet” dishes, while most of the time he just wanted a t-bone and fried potatoes.
