Thousands of pounds of food collected for Haiti relief effort

Hours after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince on Jan. 12, Brother Bud Owen of Lebanon Christian Church began organizing a collection drive to help the Haitians. Bro. Bud's parents, Larry and Diane Owen, have a mission called Waves of Mercy based in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Initially, Bro. Bud's goal was to fill a semi-truck trailer with jars of peanut butter. But he and the people of Marion County, along with surrounding communities and even neighboring states, have managed to surpass that goal and do so much more.
