Three people died and two more were hospitalized after a vehicle was swept away in floodwaters near New Hope early Sunday.
Five people were in a 2007 Ford Explorer when it drove into floodwaters from the Rolling Fork River near Walter Hall Road and Dee Head Road, according to the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management. Two people escaped and went to get help, but the other three people were trapped inside.
