Three Marion County High School volleyball players made their district championship victory even sweeter by landing on the tournament's All-District Team last week.

Seniors Kaitlin Knopp, Loren Taylor and junior Shelby Howard earned their spot on the team after their play in the Lady Knights run through the 18th District tournament.

Head Coach David Hibbard spoke a little bit about each player later in the week.

"Knopp was by far our best player," Hibbard said, noting that no one played poorly but Knopp stood out.

Knopp holds the record for most blocks in a single season and is being recruited by Midway College. Hibbard said the senior has come a long way.

Hibbard said Taylor was a good setter and the most competitive player he's ever coached.

"She's a gutsy leader and the glue that holds us together," Hibbard said.

Hibbard said Howard is a young player with a lot of potential.

"I'm proud of her effort and expect more good things from her next season," Hibbard said.

The Lady Knights opened up region tournament play against LaRue County on Tuesday night at Central Hardin High School.
