June 30, 2009, will be Roger Marcum's last day as the superintendent of Marion County Public Schools. But he is also convinced that it's a situation that won't go away when he retires. "Every day we wait, the problem gets bigger," Marcum said. The issue in Marcum's mind is the $24.1 million in needs identified 20 months ago in the district facilities plan.
