Today is Andy Colley Day in Marion County

Local radio personality Andy Colley will soon be getting married and moving to Richmond. In recognition of his years of service in the community, the Marion County Fiscal Court has issued a proclamation declaring today, March 8, as Andy Colley Day.

March 8 is Andy Colley Day in Marion County. Colley has been a long-time employee of MIKE 100.9 FM and has offered his services as an emcee in numerous community events over the years.

In 2011, Colley played Hoot, the hero in a new, old-fashioned melodrama, "Lovely in Danger."

Today is also Colley’s final day working at MIKE 100.9 FM WLSK and 1590 AM WLBN.  The proclamation notes that Colley has become a fixture in local radio stations.

The proclamation celebrates Colley for years of fair, honest and dependable service to the community, and it notes that he has contributed to public service by serving as the emcee at a variety of events.

Colley accepted the proclamation at the March 7 fiscal court meeting, saying that he will always think fondly of Marion County.
