Tonya Ford found guilty, jury recommends 20-year sentence

Lebanon Police Officer David Ford was found dead Feb. 10, 2009, at his home in Campbellsville. He had been shot in the head.

Tonya Ford, David Ford's wife, was convicted of his murder Friday morning.

Tonya Ford has been found guilty of the murder of her husband, and the jury has recommended a sentence of 20 years in prison.
The jury of four men and 10 women returned the verdict Friday morning. Deliberation ended around 8 p.m. on Thursay, and the jury was taken to a local motel before beginning deliberation again at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
David Ford, 40, a Lebanon Police officer, was found shot to death in the head at his Graham Road home in Campbellsville on Feb. 10, 2009. Tonya Ford called the Campbellsville/Taylor County E-911 Center and said she had arrived at the home and found that her husband had been shot.
Taylor County Coroner Terry Dabney said in 2009 that an autopsy confirmed Officer Ford's death as a homicide.
She faces as much as life in prison. The prosecution has said it will not seek the death penalty.
